Here at Guide Dogs, our family of volunteers is growing, but we’re always in need of new members.

We encourage people from all walks of life to join our community of caring and passionate volunteers.

When we say volunteering for Guide Dogs is life changing, we’re not just talking about the people we’ll support.

You’ll gain new skills; build confidence you never knew you had and have amazing experiences that you genuinely couldn’t find anywhere else.

There are around 2 million people living with sight loss in the UK. Guide Dogs, a UK-wide charity, supports people with a visual impairment to maintain their independence and live the life they choose.

There are lots of different services on offer, ranging from volunteer-led services such as sighted guiding through to support for children and young people, access to technology, and the iconic guide dog service.

It costs around £55,000 to train and support a guide dog partnership throughout the dog and owner’s life.

Our Fundraising volunteers play a significant part in enabling us to continue to provide these services.

We are looking for a new Fundraising Group Coordinator in Fordingbridge and the West New Forest area.

This role includes a variety of responsibilities, from coordinating fundraising events such as sponsored walks, bowling nights, golf days, bake sales and pub quizzes; collections in stores; or giving talks in schools and different clubs.

Dave Herbert the Fundraising Group Coordinator for Eastleigh and Winchester has told us what his favourite part of the role is “I am a people person, I love to talk and engage with people and the role is fantastic for this!

It affords me lots of opportunities to talk with new people, from the businesses we approach for fundraising to the general public at collections and not forgetting our wonderful volunteers!

The public love to hear about the dogs and the work we do, and our Guide dog owners have some interesting stories to tell.”

We are also looking for a Deputy Fundraising Group Coordinator and a Collection Box Coordinator in the area.

Each role is flexible in terms of the hours and location you can work, so we want to hear from you, even if you can only give an hour here and there!
