New Forest District Council is taking part in national Recycle Week 2015 (22-28 June) and asking residents who may be confused about cardboard, perplexed about plastics, or mystified by metals to Recycle Right.

Mandy Pickard, New Forest District Council’s environment promotions assistant, explains the idea behind the Recycle Right campaign, “Households recycle less than a third of their waste in the New Forest and people tell us they would like to recycle more, but that they aren’t always clear on what can and can’t go in the clear sack for collection, or what they can take to recycling sites.  We want to help, and with the Recycle Right campaign, we are going right back to basics to help and encourage our residents to get more of the right things in the clear recycling sacks.”

On Wednesday 24 June, during Recycle Week, New Forest District Council are inviting people to pose their recycling questions on facebook and twitter and recycling experts will be on hand to answer the questions live between 10am and 12noon.  (Facebook.com/newforestgov and twitter @newforestdc)
